Scope and Contents

J. Ronald Todd, Chief Reference Librarian of the University of Washington Library, donated the Oliver King Wilson Collection to the I.D.Weeks Library in 1956.  The Collection consists of three series: Correspondence, Book Chapter Files and Research Materials.

The Correspondence series contains letters concerning Wilson’s research of Huron and Beadle County, South Dakota for his unpublished book Huron-on-the Jim.

The largest series in this collection is the Book Chapter Files.  This series contains the unfinished work of Wilson’s book Huron-on-the-Jim.  Original order has been maintained for this series and each chapter has its own file.  Research materials are kept within the materials for each chapter.  Chapter files contain Manuscripts, Typescripts, Typescripts with holograph corrections, note cards and other research materials.

The Research Materials series contains an address listing of people to contact for research and an unfinished description of the Buildings in Huron in 1880.
