Dissertations and Theses are often considered unpublished original research work. Information derived from a study of the text needs the consent of the author in writing before it can be published. Dissertations are 1° literature sources.

Dissertation Abstracts – Full-Text (via ProQuest)
Covers doctoral dissertations completed in the U.S. at participating accredited institutions for the last 150 years. Includes some master's theses and foreign language dissertations.  This full-text database includes University of South Dakota dissertations.

WorldCat (via FirstSearch)
Most comprehensive database contains holdings information from libraries around the world. Includes thesis, dissertations both nationally and internationally.
