  • Are not peer-reviewed
  • Contain articles written by journalists, practitioners, and consultants for the members of a profession
  • Communicate news, trends and forecasts, product information, and job opportunities to the profession
  • Contain short(er) articles, often in technical language, with no abstracts or citations
  • Contain extensive advertising of services and products directly related to the field Are usually published monthly
  • Have a glossy "look"
