Login to the myUSD Portal:
Enter your Username and Password when the screen appears and once in MyU Portal, Select the Technology Tab at the Top of the Page
Look in the Box titled Technology Downloads. Select EndNote:
Select the Hyperlink under Download EndNote Now for either PC or Mac:
Enter your USD username and password:
Select Save from this box; you will be prompted to choose a place to save.
It is recommended to save to your desktop, but, if you would like to save in a different spot, remember where you saved this file.
After this is saved, if saved to desktop, you will see an icon. Double click on this:
The following screen will pop-up.
Under the column titled Folder Tasks on the far left side, choose Extract all files. You should not be prompted for an access code, if you have click here.
A series of boxes will now help you extract the zipped files:
Select Next:
Make sure that the location of the extracted files is where you would like it to go and select Next:
Then select Finish:
After the extraction process is completed, a similar box will pop up and now ENX5Inst.msi should be selected to continue the installation process:
Now there will be many pop-up boxes for the EndNote X5 installation:
Select Run
Select Next
Select Accept
Select Next
Select Next
Make sure that the statement I accept the license agreement is selected, then select Next
If you are familiar with EndNote, at this point you can select Custom to choose your own EndNote application features. It is recommended to stay with Typical installation for all other users. Then select Next:
Choose the Destination of your file, then select Next:
Select Next:
You can now use EndNote!
