USD Registration Instructions

Ready to register? Go to SciFinder Scholar Registration  

To register, you will need to supply the following:

*Current campus email address ending in "usd.edu". If your preferred email provider is Gmail, for example, you will need to setup forwarding from your current campus email address to your Gmail account.

*User name: Must be unique and contain 5-15 characters. It can contain only letters or a combination of letters, numbers, and/or these special characters:

• -  (dash)   
• _(underscore)  
• . (period)  
• @ (at symbol)

 *Password: Must contain 7-15 characters and include at least three of the following:

• Letters
• Mixed upper- and lowercase letters
• Numbers 
• Non-alphanumeric characters, for example @, #, %, &, *  

Software/Network Requirements

The only software items required are a web browser and industry-standard Java Runtime Environment (JRE) Version 6.2 or higher for the structure drawing editor. CAS has provided a downloadable JRE plug-in http://www.cas.org/misc/downloads/jreplugin.html. The Web Version uses standard web network protocols that should not require changes to network firewalls.
