Endnote

This guide will lead you through the process of downloading, installing, and setting up Endnote on your computer.

Filters

Filters from EndNote.com – Note that your installation of EndNote comes with a specific set of import filters.

However, there are constant additions to the filter library on the EndNote website.

Follow these steps to get the latest filters directly from EndNote.

Edit –Open Filter Manager, click on “Get More on the Web.”

 

EndNote.com – This will take you directly to the import filters page on the EndNote website.

 

 

Terms of Use – Read through the Terms of Use and click “Accept” to continue.

 

 

Complete Set – It is recommended that you click on the “complete set” link to get all of the latest import filters.

 

 

Terms of Use – You will be asked to read and agree to the Terms of Use again.


 

 

Download – Select “Open With Windows Explorer (default)” to download the filters.

 

 

Zip File - Select the destination for the zip folder.

Make sure that you select “Show extracted files when complete.”

Click on “Extract.”

DO NOT CLICK on the “Filters” icon.

Extract All Files – Click on “Extract all Files.”

 

 

 

Import Filters – This folder contains all of the unzipped Import Filters.

 

 

Move Filters - Open your Filters folder (Documents – EndNote – Filters) on the same screen.

Select all of the filters from the download/extract folder.

Click, hold, and drag all of the filters into your Filters folder.

This will move all of the downloaded filters into the folder that EndNote searches when you need to import files.

 

 

Where are my filters? – Click on “Edit” and then “Preferences” to find your filters folder.
