Web Resources for STEM Education

  • Siemen's STEM Academy
    Divided by age and subject, this site encourages teachers to share their lesson plans and resources for others to benefit from.
  • Office of Science and Technology Policy - White House
    This site from the White House lays out the STEM-related goals to be addressed, including preparing the American workforce for STEM-related jobs. They provide several reports on the importance of STEM, as well as resources to support each goal.
  • A Compendium of Best Practice K-12 STEM Education Programs
    The Bayer Corporation has a vested interest in getting students up to speed on STEM - it wants to hire them! This report goes over some of the best practices in STEM education. Parents may be able to pick up some tips and tricks from this too.
  • NASA Digital Learning Network
    This section of the NASA website is aimed at teachers, parents, and anyone else that helps kids learn about space and STEM. There are free classes on subjects related to astronomy and space travel, as well as webcasts - the Mission: Mars virtual field trip is a great way to engage students.
  • YALSA STEM Resources
    Another acronym! The Young Adult Library Services Association has put together this list of STEM resources for teens. There are fiction books with STEM tie-ins, non-fiction materials broken down by subject, and web resources for teens to explore.
