LIBM 406/506 Adolescent Literature

Guide for locating books in the library that are in the youth collection or related to adolescent literature.

How to find book reviews on children's literature

If you want to find a review about a youth book you have a few different options. An internet search engine such as Google will probably work fine, you can look on websites that sell books (see Related Websites tab), or there a couple of ways to use the library research databases. One way is to use "One Search" (Books & More" tab on the I.D. Weeks Library home page) rather than the library catalog.

You can do an initial search, for example, for "juvenile fiction" or "juvenile nonfiction" (combine both in a single search if you like). After searching, look for "Resource Type" in the filters on the left and select "Review Articles."

The displayed results will then change to show only review articles.

The ProQuest Research Library database is another avenue for searching. On it's search screen you can select Review under Document Type to limit results to those with reviews.
