Linking Directly to Resources; Individual Articles and Records

This guide will explain persistent links in library resources and how to utilize them, such as in a D2L course page.

Creating Persistent Links to Articles and eBooks in OVID Databases

  • Conduct a search.
  • From the results list, click on the title of an item.
  • Select "OVID Full Text" link on right side of page.
  • Select link to "Email Jumpstart" from right side of page.
  • Copy the URL and paste it into document, LMS, email, etc.

USD Information:

Add in front of the URL "Your Jumpstart URL is"
(remove any spaces in the URL)https://usd.idm.oclc.org/login?url=

Example
He, Shu, MD, PhD, Bark, Niklas, MD, PhD, Wang, Haiyao, MD, PhD, Svensson, Jan, MD, PhD, Blomback, Margareta, MD, PhD. (January 2009). Effects of Acetylsalicylic Acid on Increase of Fibrin Network Porosity and the Consequent Upregulation of Fibrinolysis. Journal of Cardiovascular Pharmacology. 53(1):24-29.

This is how you would configure the url so anyone with a USD email account can access:

https://usd.idm.oclc.org/login?url=http://ovidsp.ovid.com/ovidweb.cgi?T=JS&NEWS=N&PAGE=fulltext&AN=00005344-200901000-00004&LSLINK=80&D=ovft
