The research materials in Archives and Special Collections are searchable through online finding aids, guides held in the department, and the USD catalog.

A Finding Aid is often the tool that both Archives staff and users rely upon to find letters, photographs, reports, diaries and other archival records with the Richardson and USD Archives collections. 

Search for books, pamphlets and other materials in the Chilson Collection. 

Archives and Special Collections at the University of South Dakota

 Archives and Special Collections staff are available to serve you at our location on the 3rd Floor of the University Libraries or by phone and e-mail.  Hours are Monday - Friday,  8 AM to 5 PM.  Appointments are welcome, but not necessary.

Take the central stairs to the 3rd Floor, turn right (to the east), and walk down the hall. Room 321 will be to your right (to the south).
