Summary

The Educational Media Center was created in the 1960s to provide both media and equipment for USD students, faculty and administrators. A 2,000 film rental library was also operated by the Educational Media Center to facilitate schools and organizations in South Dakota and surrounding states. The film library was disbanded in the early 1990s with selective inventory being distributed across the state as well as to various departments across the USD campus. In 2012, the University Libraries initiated a project of converting some of the films to a digital format.
