SPECIFICATIONS
All work must be original, executed within the last three years, and not previously displayed in a Bound and Unbound exhibition. The cases in which Bound and Unbound 5 will be displayed are 80” long (top to bottom), 28 ½” wide (side to side), and 8 ½” deep (front to back). The University Libraries reserves the right to refuse work difficult to exhibit due to size, weight, or presentation.
SUBMISSION
Entry is open to all. Entry is free. Artists may submit up to three works for consideration. Artists may submit either a CD or electronic files (attached to the online project form http://libguides.usd.edu/BU5 readable on PC and Mac, containing images for up to three works with one image per piece. Images should not be greater than three MB with the longest dimension at 1000 pixels and a resolution of 200 pixels per inch. Submitted application materials will not be returned.
ACCEPTANCE
Juror notification of acceptance will be sent by email starting April 29, 2019.
LIABILITY
The University Libraries, on behalf of the University of South Dakota, will make every effort to insure the safe handling of entries, but does not assume responsibility for damage or loss. Works will be exhibited in locked display cases behind glass.
REPRODUCTION
The University Libraries, on behalf of the University of South Dakota, reserves the right to reproduce entries for exhibition and publicity purposes to include, but not limited to, print and electronic media, for use on the University Libraries website, and inclusion in both the Digital Library of South Dakota (explore.digitalsd.org) and the Digital Public Library of America (dp.la) with a signed release.
SALE OF WORK
Any inquiries for sale of work will be referred directly to the artist.
DELIVERY OF WORK
Selected work may be hand delivered to the University Libraries’ Circulation Desk July 1 - July 31, 2019. Works sent by mail/courier or shipper to the Libraries must include a prepaid return shipping label (this includes international pieces). Entries must be accompanied by a copy of the completed and signed registration form. All work must be ready for display.
PICK UP/RETURN OF WORK
Work will be available for pick up at the Circulation Desk starting January 10, 2020. Works received by mail/courier or shipper with prepaid labels will be returned in the same fashion also starting January 10, 2020. Work that is not claimed after 60 days will become the property of the University Libraries, University of South Dakota.
