As we reopen, we want to make sure we all stay as safe as possible. We have adopted some new guidelines that will be in place for the foreseeable future.

Upon reopening, Wegner Library hours will be:
Sunday 2:00 P.M.-9:00 P.M.
Monday - Thursday 8:00 A.M. - 9:00 P.M.
Friday - 8:00 A.M. - 5:00 P.M.
Saturday - CLOSED
Seating: Social distancing is expected. Chairs will be removed, and study areas will be marked with a designated number of people per space. Please do not adjust the seating arrangements.
Occupancy: The occupancy rate of the library will be affected. The staff will monitor the library and place notices on the doors to indicate if the library has reached capacity.
Due to social distancing and to ensure equal access to study rooms; new guidelines are in place.
Time Limit: 4 hours
Checkout Limit: 1-checkout per day per-use with additional checkouts at the discretion of the library staff.
Capacity Limits
Reservations: Can be made up to 1-week-in-advance. Rooms will be held for 15 minutes before being relinquished to another patron if the party with the reservation has not checked-in. A 15 minute cushion between appointments will be maintained to allow for air exchange in the study rooms.
The library staff and hired cleaners will strive to keep the library sanitized and cleaned on a regular basis. We cannot guarantee the library is a germ-free environment and ask that you determine if the library is the right place for you to study.
High Touch surfaces: The library will wipe down high touch areas with disinfectant spray frequently.
Cleaning: Throughout the day, the library will disinfect hard surfaces such as arms on chairs, desks, computer keyboards, etc.
You can help: Please wipe down your workspace after each use with disinfectant spray.
Cleaning stations: Cleaning stations will be placed throughout the library with gloves, disinfectant spray, paper towels, and hand sanitizer.
No Public Access: If you are seeking health information, please make an appointment with a librarian (wegner@usd.edu, 605-357-1400).
Partner Computers: Seating is limited to ensure social distancing.

Literature search: You may request a librarian perform a literature search for you using this form: usd.edu/library/wegner/request-search.
Physical Material: All print material will be quarantined for up to three days (72 hours). The Wegner online catalog may indicate the book is in, however, it could still be in quarantine. Please contact the library at wegner@usd.edu if you are interested in a specific title.
Book Return: Books should be returned in the vestibule dropbox or the library dropbox by the circulation desk. Please do not put your returns on the circulation counter.
Interlibrary Loan: Books requested through interlibrary loan will be quarantined for three days (72 hours). You will receive a notice once the books have been processed through our system.
Curbside pick-up: We will continue to offer curbside pick-up. To schedule an appointment email wegner@usd.edu.
