Summary

The Program Council which began in 1968 as a combined effort between the Coyote Student Center and the Student Association, is a student-run programming board that is responsible for bringing entertainment and a variety of cultural, educational, recreational and social programs to the University of South Dakota campus.  The Council fulfills this goal through committees which plan, promote, and present a well-diversified set of events throughout the year.  The Council concerns itself with the students on and off campus and encourages them to participate in the wide variety of programs presented each semester.

The chairpersons of the committees comprise the Program Council, who work as a unit to bring events to the campus community.  The chairpersons are trained in fiscal management, problem solving and leadership skills.

The programming which the Council provides to the students encompassed a wide variety of events and in turn covers many individual interests. These activities are student-run and student-produced by volunteers with the aid of the Coyote Student Center staff.
