Dr. Kozmenko, MD, CHSE-A, & Director of the Parry Center for Clinical Simulation is the winner of our 2022 READ poster honor. He was photographed with what he describes as his current favorite book, Thinking, Fast and Slow, written by a Nobel Prize winner, Daniel Kahneman. The author examines in-depth the intuitive (quick, System 1) and analytic (slow, System 2) thinking mechanisms and how they interact with each other. "I think this book is a must read for everyone who is curious how people think and make decisions."
Dr. Haifa Samra, Dean, School of Health Sciences at the University of South Dakota was nominated for her support of the Wegner Health Sciences Library. She stated that "I am very proud of the work that you do in support of our faculty, staff, and students and I am happy to assist and promote the library in any way I can." Dr. Samara served on the Wenger Board of Directors from 2021-2025. She selected The Emperor of All Maladies by Siddhartha Mukherjee as a meaningful book for anyone considering the healthcare field.
