  • How current is the information?
  • Does the site include a publication date?
  • When was it last updated?
  • Are there dead links?

On this site you know when the site was first published - 1997, and when it was last updated - 2/14/02. Both dates are important and should be easy to locate on the homepage of all Web sites. The updating of a site is critical to ensure that the most recent information is available and that someone is checking all the links to make sure URLs have not changed or become dead.
