ILLiad: Request a Renewal

How USD students staff and faculty can set up an ILLiad account to order items.

How to Request a Renewal of an Item Through ILLiad

  1. Log into your ILLiad account.




  2. On the main screen, click the link in the left hand column for the “Checked Out Items”. Click on the “Transaction Number” for the item that you want to request a renewal for.



  3.  Click “Renew Request” in the upper left hand corner of the details on the main part of the webpage.



  4. A message will appear confirming the request. This will trigger a notification for ILL to submit a request to the lending library to renew the item. We will email you within 4 days with the lending library's approval or denial.




In instances where the “Renew Request “button does not show up:

  1. The lending library may not allow renewal and the item will need to be returned. Check on the book band to see if there is the statement "No Renewals".
  2. The item has already been renewed once before. You will need to contact the ILL office for additional renewals.
