University Libraries One Search Frequently Asked Questions

Why a new Integrated Library System platform?

In an effort to better connect the USD community to the information resources and digital tools they need, the University Libraries are implementing a newly integrated library system platform that will enhance and expand library services.

Supporting USD's commitment to innovation and accessibility, the new system will enable the University Libraries to continuously refresh and unveil new digital tools that will allow students and faculty to search, browse, share and customize materials in increasingly robust and intuitive ways.

Additionally, the platform will support broader integration of information resources through its alignment with all the SD BOR libraries to ensure greater fiscal responsibility and operational efficiency.

What will this mean for me?

The interface for locating, accessing and obtaining University Libraries resources will change in July. Many new features will be available which will allow for better virtual browsing of the University Libraries' collections and improved integration with other various University systems, including the learning management system (D2L).
