Opening EndNote the First Time
When you first open EndNote go to Edit >> Preferences >> Libraries >> When EndNote starts: (Recommended selections are Prompt to select a library or Do Nothing)
By selecting the Prompt to select a library preference, it will ask you which library (EndNote file) you want to open each time you start EndNote.
By selecting Do Nothing you will be prompted to "open an existing library" or "create a new library".
If Open the most recently used library is selected, you will import citations into the library you last used. This can become a problem as it may not import into the library you want to use. This preference may become a hassle if you have multiple libraries.
The option Open specified libraries opens libraries from a list you create of specific libraries you want opened at start.
