This guide will help you get started in setting up Table of Content alerts or new journal article alerts.

What is BrowZine?

BrowZine allows users to browse and read journals available through the USD Libraries or open sources. With BrowZine you can:

  • Browse journal collections by subject
  • View articles in the latest issues of journals
  • Easily access full text of articles through the USD Libraries
  • Send articles to citation managers (i.e., EndNote, Zotero, Mendeley, etc.)
  • Share links to articles with others by email, Facebook, LinkedIn, X (formerly Twitter), or by copying the link

*Third Iron supports over 1,000 publishers and provides access to tens of thousands of journals, but you may find that not all journals are yet included.

Accessing BrowZine

BrowZine is available via the Web and is fully mobile optimized. BrowZine can be used in any internet browser and does not require a download or a mobile device.

Authentication

To access content from supported publishers available through the USD Libraries subscriptions, you must sign in with your USD userID and password.

To sign in:

  1. When opening BrowZine for the first time, you will be asked to Choose a Library.
  2. Scroll down to, or type into the search bar, University of South Dakota and select.
  3. Enter your USD ID and Password in the appropriate fields, and login.

Journals can be searched for by title or browsed by subject area. 

BrowZine Browse section

In the Table of Contents view, selecting Browse Related Subjects will display the journal along with other titles in the same subject area.

To view the Table of Contents for older issues of a journal, click on a different issue under the Journal Issues section. Some journals also provide the ability to view Articles in Press.
