As you read through the materials you have located for your topic, pay attention to details like to how the article, thesis, disssertation, etc. was constructed. What was the topic? Was the topic divided into sub-topics? How were the research questions framed? What types of sources were used? Did the literature review adequately frame the study? How were the research questions informed by the literature review?
By paying attention to the details you can help teach yourself how to write about scholarly research better. But please note when you look at theses or dissertations from other universities that the guidelines for how to construct them vary from school to school, so they may not be an exact model for what you will write to graduate from USD.
